The PROTECTION & SAFETY Fair is a specialized fair event, organized in a completely new way, by the principle “a new concept of the Protection Fair – a new concept of citizen protection and rescue under emergency situations and a new approach to the work safety and health care”, which provides it with high quality business visitors – the B2B contact. Protection&Safety 2008 event took place on May 27 – 30, 2008, under the auspices of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia, PROTECTION AND RESCUE DEPARTMENT and Ministry of Labor and Social Policy Work Safety and Health Care Department.On that occasion, based upon the organizer’s invitation and the entry free of charge, the event was visited by more than 7,000 registered business visitors, Managing Directors of the leading Serbian companies, bank Directors and Security Managers, companies, End users of the security services, trade staff, installers, construction entrepreneurs and design companies. 100 local and international companies took part in the Protection&Safety Fair, at more than 10,000 sq. m. indoor and outdoor space. It was attended by the local representatives of the exhibitors from 14 foreign countries: Greece, Italy, Croatia, Austria, France, Hungary, Netherland, Japan, Canada, Corea, Germany, China, the USA, the UK, direct exhibitors from Greece, Italy, Russia, Croatia, as well as famous guests – local and international top experts. The greatest worldwide names exhibited through their local representatives a part of their production range. The exhibitors, of course, are also domestic manufacturers of the protection equipment and service providers. The fair event was excellently followed by media. The final competition of primary school pupils in the fire extinguishing was held within the educational campaign. The event featured manufacturers, importers of special firefighting vehicles and equipment, systems for fire detection and extinguishing, firefighting equipment, equipmet for work safety and health care, intruder systems, video surveillance, access control and time attendance and manned/technical security. The side event program was extremely extensive, diverse and had the record visit. The lectures and round table conferences were held daily, with the topic of situation and tendencies of the organization development of the protection and natural disaster rescue systems, technical/technological accidents, hazardous matter impacts, other emergency situations, work safety and health care and others. The program was prepared under direct cooperation with the Protection and Rescue Department of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia, Work Safety and Health Care Department of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, the Faculty of Security, the Manned/Technical Security Association and the Work Safety and Health Care Association. Special side events at high importance were First scientific conference organized by Protection and Rescue Department of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia, with topic “Fire protection today and Future trends” which took place at conference rooms during exhibition. Also there were special TAIEX and Work Safety and Health Care Department of the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy organized conference with topic “Work safety and health care personal protection equipment” as well as “Risk assesment – case studies”. IT security conference with topic : IT security – Open code colutions” was organized by Red Hat & Partners.
